During science, fifth grade students observed and compared the behaviors of pendulums. They conducted controlled experiments to find out what variables affect the number of cycles a pendulum will complete in a unit of time. This unit was called "Swingers"

Next week, the students will be building life boats using paper cups. Pennies will represent the passengers in a life boat. They will identify variables that might affect the number of passengers (pennies) a paper cup boat can hold without sinking.
