Mrs. Gentry's Reading Class has a "tasty treat!"
Made some chocolate chip cookies
Ms. Gloria Gentry's 1st grade reading class read a story called "Cupcakes". Then they read one of the nonfiction selections, "Mr. Santizo's Tasty Treats." This is the story about a Guatemalan American who works making cakes, breads, and other baked goods in a neighborhood bakery. Then with the help of the lunchroom staff which included Mr. Darryl Bouyer, Ms. Florence Cooper, Mr. Tim Robertson, and Ms. Lakeshia Evans, the class mixed the ingredients to make cookies. The whole reading group and lunchroom staff worked together at the tables measuring and stirring using the recipe at the end of the book to make some delicious chocolate chip cookies. And of course, they got to eat the cookies when they finished. This was truly a tasty treat for Ms. Gloria Gentry's class!
