I graduated from Hueytown High School. Afterwards I received my B.S. degree in elementary education from Miles College and then my Master's of Education from Alabama State University in the same field of study. Teaching has been rewarding both personally and professionally. There have been difficult times but the children of Bessemer make the hard times sweet. It is truly a blessing to live and work in the same community. Now that I have been teaching for 10 years I have decide learning for me is not over. It is lifelong. If I am going to continue to be an educator I must continue to be educated. Learning never stops. I am now working on my National Board Certification. This certification will allow me to teach in any state nationally. Furthermore, the process has helped me to become a better educator, one who understands parents and students more, one who knows the curriculum more, one who tries her very best to give the students of Bessemer what they need most.
