Mrs. Lyons is not only a teacher in the Bessemer City School System, she is also a product of Bessemer.  Being an alumna of Jess Lanier High School, she has earned a master's degree in Elementary/Early Childhood  Education from Jacksonville State University. She has taught at Westhills Elementary School for 11 years. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is married to Tarus Lyons.  Mr. Lyons is a 11th grade U.S. History teacher at Jess Lanier High School.
