I have taught at Westhills Elementary School for 15 years.  I was a first grade teacher for 7 years where I found it a joy to teach children to read and begin to become independent learners. In 1999, I became a reading coach/interventionist for our school.    In 2000, our school went through Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) training  and my title changed to ARI reading Coach for the following school year.  When our school became a Alabama Reading First (ARFI) school, I then took on the position of ARFI reading coach where I presently serve.  I enjoy watching children grow in their learning year after year.  In  my position, I can observe the growth beginning from the day they begin at Westhills Elementary until the day they leave. 

 I graduated from Berry High school.  I received  BS in Early Childhood Education in 1991 from the University of Montevallo and a Masters degree from UAB in 1995. 

I am married to Lee Morrison and have two wonderful sons -  Michael, 12 years old, and Miles, 5 years old. 

I enjoy shopping, cooking, and ... watching Alabama football - Roll Tide!!!!
