Students reading less than 60 minutes per day will earn fewer points.

Students should be reading on their instructional grade level. Students are given a reading range or level they should use to select their books from.  We get their reading range from the results of the STAR test. It is given 3 times a year.

Students should be able to make at least 80% or higher on books when they take the AR test.

If a student listens to someone read a book to them, the book level can be harder or higher.

For non-fiction reading, reduce the level of the books by 1/2  -1 full grade level.

For read aloud books, increase the level of books read by 1-3 grade levels.
